Burning Man

Welcome to my 3D Mentorship reel for Think Tank Training Centre / Think Tank Online. In this final project for TTO, I was very lucky to be mentored by incredible texture artist, Claudia Marvisi (Head of Texturing at PIXOMONDO).

This project is about a man and his connection to Mother Nature. As he destroys nature, he is destroying himself. The realization comes as the destruction is felt on his own skin. This is Burning Man.

What it means to me.

In my work as a traditional artist, the protection of our environment has always been present. Being able to continue this narrative as I "grow" into a 3D artist, is both natural and personal.

The story of a man dealing with his own disregard for nature, touches me twice as hard as I use references of destruction in my own beautiful but mistreated homeland. The Brazilian Amazon rainforest is burned at a rate of an estimated 200,000 acres every day. More than 20% of the Amazon, the lungs of the world, have already been destroyed.

The destruction continues, but I have hope that this generation and the ones to come, are still able to renew their intentions with Mother Earth. To respect, love, connect and grow, instead of destroy.
